Hey everyone,
Working on a titan Mobile, I havent tried my expert yet.
Just picked up the MM 3.0, and im having trouble working out how to get it patched and talk to it correctly.
Ive got network to it, I have patched it in a way that i can sort of control some things, but its not very intuitive. Here's what ive done:
I networked together, set art net to come out universes 5-6-7-8. tried to patch as an active fixture, but nothing came up. In Fixtures -> Arkaos, there's the different media master "masters" which Ive patched, and it only looks like its taking up 13 channels on the most expanded one, which seems low, but whatever. Then Ive patched the other "media master full" (or mini, or 1.0, or 1.1 etc) and plopped them on the other universes, and ive even gotten some control over say the fader.
But then it looks like 6 other layers somehow are affected, and no amount of going through parameters allows me to control or change things, which tells me its a patch problem, like the channels dont line up.
I know Im networked to at least that computer because I can talk to my lightconverse, and LC shows up in my DMX options... where MM doesnt, while running, both on the same computer. (console is NOT on the same computer by the way)
SO! Questions:
Does 3.0 need a different personality that I might not have?
Why doesnt MM show up as an Active fixture anywhere, I thought that was the point. (I have active fixure selected in MM by the way)
Is there a really dumbed down way to do this that Im missing? I feel like I should be taking up about 3 universes for 12 layers and the Master control, but it looks like its only 13 or 14 channels each, Even in 1.0 and 1.0 full mode.
If anyone has gone through all this and has picked up a good set of troubleshooting skills, can you let me know?

Re: Arkaos MM Pro 3.0 - Cant find it as active fixture
First make sure your fixture library is up-to-date.
In Arkaos preferences/DMX under the 'Interface' section make sure the DMX Interface is set to ArtNet.
Under 'Patch' set the 'Layers fixture' to 'Layer Full 1.1' or 'Layer Full 1.0'.
'Full' layers require 43 channels. Therefore the maximum number of layers that can fit on one universe is 11 with 39 channels spare. If you wanted all 12 layers you would need at least two universes. In Arkaos preferences/DMX under the 'Patch' section there are two universe settings to allow for this. The 'First Universe' and 'Universe count' under the 'Interface' section determine which and how many universes (if any) are available for these two along with the master fixture if enabled. Set the 'First Universe' and 'Universe Count' as appropriate and then select which universe, how many layers and the start channel as required under the 'Patch' section.
Unless you have a very complicated ArtNet setup I recommend leaving Subnet at zero. Ignore the note in Arkaos that says IP address should begin 2.x or 10.x. This is not important for Titan.
In Titan/DMX Settings assign Art-Net nodes to lines as required matching the universes set in Arkaos.
For now to keep things simple I would initially leave the default Arkaos settings (Interface = First Universe 0, Universe Count 2, Patch = Universe 0/8 Layers, Start channel 1) and just add one ArtNet node to line 1 in Titan. From the available nodes section this should be 'Broadcast: Universe 0' or similar. The name here is not important. Select the [i] button next to the ArtNet node that you have added to DMX line 1 and check in the Node Properties at the bottom-right that Universe and System are both set to zero. If not, change them so that they are.
When patching as an Active Fixture I have not had much success with [Use Fixtures DMX Address] in Arkaos and would recommend setting manually instead by selecting softkey A. In our example here that should be Line 1, Address 1.
If it does not show up as an Active Fixture then the most common reason is multiple network adapters. Go to Titan DMX Settings and open Art-Net DMX Module Properties by clicking on the [i] button next to Art-Net under Available DMX Nodes. If you have more than one Network Adapter select the correct one here.
When manually patching you would use [Arkaos]/[MediaMaster Full]/[Full Mode]. Patch one of these for every layer matching the universe and start channels defined in Arkaos. Assuming Arkaos is set to universe 0, start channel 1 and we have added an ArtNet universe 0 node to line 1 in Titan this means patching from DMX 001 on line 1.
Note that the 'Master fixture' is optional. The 'Active' box is to enable or disable this. If you want to use it then set universe and start channel as necessary and patch manually in Titan to match the universe/channel and type chosen in Arkaos (ie. Master full 1.0/1.1). This will not patch as part of active fixture.
I have tested all this using TM and Arkaos on the same machine and PE over network.

Re: Arkaos MM Pro 3.0 - Cant find it as active fixture
I got it to work finally, Thanks nic.
One thing I will add for other people is make sure your firewall is turned off.

Re: Arkaos MM Pro 3.0 - Cant find it as active fixture
I setup Arkaos and TT2 the same as mentioned above, and turned off firewall, but i don' have any control.
In DMX setting I have Artnet Universe 0 mapped to Line 1, IP address 192.168.0.5. (mediamaster IP address: 192.168.0.12)
DMX tab in MM is set correctly.
the only thing I can see that is suspicious is the Ethernet Port at the back of the console show a static orange light, with a yellow flashing light. While it should show a green static light with a yellow flashing light shouldn't it? I changed a few cables it is still the same.

Re: Arkaos MM Pro 3.0 - Cant find it as active fixture
I could be wrong but I'm fairly sure Arkaos only works on subnets 2.xxx.xxx.xxx or 10.xxx.xxx.xxx (subnet mask 255.0.0.0). This would be the first thing I would check. Also, if you are currently connecting directly try going via a switch or router.

thanks, i tried again today and it worked!
