I am not sure if this post should go into feature requests or not...
I had an event at the weekend using multiple Sunstrips and had a few questions / suggestions for improvement when working on multi cell fixtures.
Laying out the fixtures in the pixel mapper worked well and was nice to use.
In the pixel mapper is there a way of setting up a pattern over a group without the intensity up on the fixtures - when the pattern is controlling intensity?
It would be nice to be able to preview a pattern on screen before outputting on the fixtures.
I think I read somewhere that gradient are coming for the pixel mapper in V10 which if that is correct will be a big improvement.
If I used my group containing the Sunstrip fixtures in keyframe shapes they would only respond as whole fixtures rather than individual cells.
I worked out that if I unfolded the selected fixtures, selected all the individual cells and made a group from that, the keyframe shapes worked across the cells.
The problem with using this method is it took a lot longer to setup the pixel layout for the group as you have to move individual pixels around. It would be nice if this worked using the fixture group.
If I made a chase from either the fixture group or the individual cells group and edited the fixture overlap, this only ever seemed to work across fixtures and not across individual cells. It would be nice to be able to do the spread across the individual cells between steps.
There may be ways of doing some of the above that I missed as I only had limited time on the desk.
Thanks,
Tim

Re: Titan - using Multicell Fixtures
You can use blind mode to adjust controls without outputting to stage. To visualise this you can either open the Pixel Mapper Preview window and/or use the visualiser which will automatically show the blind programmer output when in blind mode.
Keyframe shapes and fixture overlap options to run on cells have both been requested before and hopefully will be possible in future versions.

Re: Titan - using Multicell Fixtures
Thanks for the reply.
I realise that the pixel mapper probably isn't meant for busking live but I did end up setting up looks in the mapper mid show a couple of times. Because a lot of stuff is in the programmer when doing a very busked event, switching to blind mode affects other fixtures.
It would be nice to have something like a blind / preview button or even an output level fader within the pixel mapper (while still being able to see the effect on screen)
Thanks
Tim

Switching into blind mode should not affect any of your fixtures whether they are being controlled by playbacks or by values in the programmer. When you exit blind mode your previous programmer values will be restored so you can continue from where you were before. Changes made in blind will cleared when you exit blind mode so you will need to store them to a playback first.
