Downgrade a Tiger Touch II from V9.0 back to V8.1

Postby SamHUIfongching » 19 Sep 2015, 11:56

An operator has a old show which was programmed in V8.1, he requested a Tiger Touch PRO with V8.1. I have a Tiger Touch II got V9.0 Release Candidate 44. Is it okay to run that show? I knew I can downgrade my Tiger Touch II back v8.x via a v8.0 Recovery stick but I never try. Is it true and any risk on this progress? Does the console will auto execute that recovery program from the inserted memory stick when I turn on the console?

Best regards,

You shouldn't have any problems running a version 8 show on version 9. Note that we are now on version 9.1.

The downgrade doesn't successfully, my Tiger Touch still in V9.0.
I made a Tiger Touch v8.0 Recovery Stick and inserted to the console. It can run but we were facing to the software licence issue immediately. I asked a Temporary Licence for Avo Web. After I input that licence, the console did not start the recovery program, it was runing the Titan V9.0. The USB HHD is the first device but console seems not recognize that recovery program so it start to run the Titan 9.0 when I turn on the console.
I am wondering may I make another Recovery Stick to try?

Certainly try and make the recovery stick again. It sounds like it isn't bootable. You could try changing the boot order in BIOS so that the internal HDD isn't listed and only have the Usb device. This will prove whether it can boot from the stick or not. If you do this just make sure to re-enable the internal HDD after the recovery gets to the 'unplug the Usb device' part.
