Invert pan/tilt on 2000-era virtual fixture banks

Postby pscandrett » 28 Nov 2014, 12:32

Hi

Often I'm out on a gig, think of something to ask when I get back, and then forget about it (and/or the existence of this forum!). It's not a showstopper, so I've not mentioned it before...

I use both Titan and 'older' desks back to the Pearl 2000 and Pearl Tiger; it is on the latter that this occurred last week. It's not uncommon for me to patch fixtures to the virtual fixture bank 'above' the fixture handles (that would exist physically on larger desks as per the Pearl 2004+) by pressing the Avo key when patching; I can the access them either individually when I need them or, more commonly, by groups. (eg if I have a load of LEDs I'll often patch them up there out of the way and then never access them as anything other than a group...)

Last week I patched a handful of movers up there as I was running out of convenient fixture handles; all fine, until I needed to invert pan on some of them. I went to invert pan, then in order to select the fixture I held down AVO - and got the AVO menu rather than being able to select the upper bank. I'd hit this problem before I think, from the Pearl 2000, and never really worked round it apart from ensuring movers were patched onto a physical fixture handle rather than one in the invisible second bank.

It's not really a problem and obviously it's not being developed any more, but is there a way of flipping pan on a fixture not attached to a lower bank of fixture handles (or more specifically I suppose, a fixture handle without its own two buttons)?

Thanks

Peter

I've double checked and you can still use the Avo key to select the top bank when in the Invert menu. Once you release the Avo key it will return to that menu with the fixtures now selected and you can use the attribute bank keys and softkeys to invert the different attributes. You can also select the fixtures before entering the menu if you prefer. Another method is pressing the page button twice so that it is flashing, in this mode the buttons are switched to the top bank without having to press the Avo key.

Marvellous, thank you for checking and demoing. I didn't realise about the flashing page key either; you learn something every day!

Thanks very much.
