Pearl 2004 Encoder wheels stopped working

As per title, both Encoder wheels have stopped working, is there anywhere in the setup menu that would disable them or should I open the desk and look for a cable fault, thought I'd ask before I went at it like a bull in a china shop.....

Sorted, loose connector inside desk.
