Drive not visible to get the token file

Postby ren » 19 Jun 2014, 01:37

I just got the temporary license for my tiger touch and now I am trying to get the token file for the full license but it's not giving me a drive to select to save it to. I'm assuming this would also do with why I have never been able to save a show file before either. The console does detect it in windows, but apparently the Titan software does not. I've always had to manually open the save folder and copy/paste my show files to the thumb drive. I've also tried multiple thumb drives and on every USB port on the console.

I went thru this before

if the USB drive has a setting from the manufacture that you can't change saying it is a "fixed drive" instead of a "removable drive" titan won't see it tho windows will .

I knew I was going to have troubles with this update, I have shows coming up and I'm in big trouble if I can't get this going soon. I am currently also using a sandisk drive so I guess I need to try another brand drive?

That would definitely be my first move. Grab any sticks you can find and see if they are recognised.

If that doesn't work are you in a position to phone Avo? That is always the quickest way to get help. I'm tempted to suggest doing a full recovery but would prefer if you have spoken to someone first.

I was finally able to find time to buy a new non sandisk but it still isn't showing anything. Looks like I will have to find a way to call the uk.

Also, I'm assuming this problem is related to why Ive never been able to save my shows either. I had to do a full recovery with the last update and it didn't change anything so I have my doubts that would help.

Definitely all the same thing. Very strange. Makes me think it is something to do with BIOS settings if full recovery made no difference. You can always email service. I wasn't sure of your location.

*update.... I updated the bios, and tried 4 different brands and sizes of USB drives. Nothing worked, then literally as I was writing a e-mail back to Avolites it hit me. I don't know why it never crossed my mind but I thought about trying the drive that had the recovery files on it that was Velcroed to the inside of the console. It instantly worked and I finally got the token file loaded. This is really odd it won't work with any other sticks but hey if anyone else is having this problem this is something to try. Thanks to anyone that helped me.

Just for giggles...

Can you format from windows on the desk ? I wonder if that would fix the drive problem... reformat then try it again ..

I assume you can get to that part of windows on the desk ...

I did format the USB drive,(I'm assuming that is what you mean). I formatted it on my desk top then put it in the console, I'm assuming that would be the same as doing it on the console.

Maybe not ...

On the old Style desks quite often a floppy formatted on a PC would not work on the desk .. format with desk worked fine.

Just an idea .. I'm curious I've only got a mobile or I'd test myself.
