Titan version 7.2

Postby jesperspier » 27 Nov 2013, 13:33

Same shit different day...

I know it's a hard to get problem...
Because i can't create the issue on purpose also...

Details legends from cue's on a ceulist missing:
-Tiger Touch (multiply desks)
-Missing legend above the playback. (above the wheels and on the {VIEW}+{Playback} pop-up they are visible)
-Legend of the cue's are made after recorded all cue's

Details legend who won't appear the first time after making them:
-Tiger Touch, Sapphire Touch, Expert Touch.
Steps:
record a cue> set legend> {Legend} {Picture} draw something {Enter}
Nothing happens...
{Legend} {Picture} chose resent made picture {Enter}
Legend works
If not...
{playback page up} > {playback page down}
Legends viable

I also can't get a alway's NOT working way to recreate the issue

I made a movie of the cuelist Legend issue.

Move the list to an other fader or reload the show fixes the problem...
Lets go for 7.3 :wink:

Thank you for that. Videos are really useful and I will enter this in the system with a link.

However, although this demonstrates the issue it does not help with reproducing. Can you think of anything that might cause it to occur?

I know it's a hard to find/fix issue if not reproducible... I can't find it myself also. I could send the showfile to someone? Maybe that can help? But even in this file it isn't going wrong all the time...
Also the missing legends (after placing the first time) does only comes up ones in the 50 times...

If i catch the bug, ill let you know!

I don't think showfile will help with this. I've entered all existing details in system. If you discover any more then I'll add.

Hi Try this.
Switch on desk do not change pages
Start new show and patch 1 or 2 fixtures.
Make a scene and save to play back.
edit play back legend and it does not show on play back
same with chase or Que list.
Change page and back again, legend now shows.

I think Avo are just going ahead to quickly with software without getting the basics right first.
The one thing that all OPS and LDs require is that its repeatable every time, I for one don't trust 7.2 to do that.
Slow down AVO get it right first time.

Thank you for that. I will look as soon as I can.

As for releases one minute people say it's not quick enough, the next it's too quick....

A huge amount of effort goes into testing but it has to be released at some point. Unfortunately occasionally something slips through the net. The point releases are there to address important things that are found after a public release. In particular, 7.2 is there to address the fader reads and occasional pauses that appeared in 7.1. This was effectively just one change to the code from 7.1 and so could be tested and released relatively quickly. This was necessary as the issue was of a nature that might affect the operation of a show. I have been running it on shows since the first build that contained the fix and am fully confident with its reliability.

I agree totally with that. Building a 7.3 for this is unnecessary. The possibility to make an other problem by fixing this one is reason enough to don't do it.
A good workaround is to move the cue/list/chase to another fader, and move it back. (that works for me till now) :)

Let's work to 8.0!
(with an brand new effect engine please :D :D :D :D , :twisted: :twisted: trash the shape generator :twisted: :twisted: )

Hi Guys,

I have been having major problems with 7.2. I am at a show in Manchester with the new 7.2 on a titan mobile, the previous problems with the software freezing ect seem to be fixed however i can now not locate any fixtures. When I started programming my intelligent fixtures were locating fine however no dimmer channels would locate, highlight wouldn't work and find fixture doesn't work. the only way to get the channel up is to do it manually. I decided to live with it for programming. After I finished I restarted my laptop and booted up the software. I now can not locate ANY fixtures. Locate does not work nor does find fixture or highlight.

Luckily I have no more programming and all my cues seem to be working okay. I do not have any WIFI here so cannot download a previous version.

Not Ideal.

Can anyone shed any 'light' on the situation?

Can you record a new locate value for your fixtures? This is done by putting the fixtures in the desired position then pressing Record followed by Locate. Once you have done this try putting them in a new position and press Locate.

That seems to be the problem, I have done that and now they are locating.
However in the process of doing that I noticed it seems to have erased half of the pallets for the fixtures. Not all of them though. Also some fixtures are un-affected completely
