override effects/cues

Postby hanman » 01 Jun 2013, 15:09

Hi!

How can I override cue ( 4 spots, circle effect with color shake for example) to other playback (2 spots are static with white color, 2 spots are running thing from previous cue..)...when I release second cue I would like that 2 static spots with white color goes back to cue 1.. I tried with crossfade mode, but everything else goes to blackout in by fixture mode, in channel mode I can't override effects...

I would like to use this for dancers on stage in clubs so everything stays intact so I can work with my playbacks normaly only 2 spots are static and focused on them...or for solos on concerts etc.

Essentually Fade Mode 2 - LTP Fade is what you need for the 2nd cue. And, if the color shake comes from a shape in cue 1, you need a 'Block C Shape' in Cue 2.

You don't say which console.

Assuming you have Titan the only thing you need to override the original shape should be the block. If you set this playback to a higher priority then you can guarantee it will always block no matter what order you fire things. If the override cue contains other attribute values, for example white, then you can also set it to release the relevant attributes.

The only reason you would use mode 2 is if you wanted to proportionally fade the attributes by fader. However, this would prevent you from using release and could cause unexpected results in some situations.
