How to override HTP values from cues?

Postby mhlighting » 27 May 2013, 22:18

Hello everyone,

I just started learning Avolites consoles. On other desks I am used to have all values as LTP. On the Tiger Touch I am learning now this is not possible as Intensity is always HTP.

Now my question: Lets say I want to have 3 states in a show: "walk-in", "showtime" and "video".
"walk-in" contains values for some fixtures lighting up the room (lets call this background lights) plus some house lights
"show" contains the same background lights house, shall bring down house lights and bring up the stage lights
"video" should just dim stage lights for a movie playback

I want to fire up the 3 cues independently as there are several videos being played back during the show so I can not put the cues in a predefined cue list. So I put my 3 cues on faders and fire the "walk-in" cue. Now the show starts and I have to leave the fader for the "walk-in" up as it contains values I want to keep. When bringing up the "show" cue" house lights wont shut down as they're HTP.

How would you usually do that? Do I have to program all background lights in all the 3 cues so I can shut down the "walk-in" cue when the show starts? If so, I would have to write these values in a palette for not having to change them later in every single cue. If I then would have to add some additional values to the palette (say new fixtures arrived) I would have to update all the cues anyway.

Thanks for any ideas!

Just patch them as single LTP channels instead of dimmers (Generic/Generic LTP). That's the way I deal with houselights and haze.

Thanks for the answer. But if there are Movinglights included, say I have MAC301 used as backlight, thats not going to work....
