pearl simulator to console transfer

Hi guys,

I've been programming using the pearl simulator and visualizer. I'm able to save my show to a floppy, but when I run into issues when I try to load the show on to my Pearl 2000. The disk will read, then start the countdown from 100%. Every time it gets to 80% left there's an error... The first 20% will load, so my patch is correct, but none of my palettes, memories, or groups will load. What can I do to resolve this issue? Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help.

A shot in the dark but it might be worth trying to format the floppy in the console first.

That was my initial thought as well... Unfortunately the disk wouldn't properly format either. As much as it pains me to say this, I'm thinking the issue may be in the disks themselves. Floppy disks aren't exactly easy to come across these days and I've been using some pretty old ones.

It could be that the floppy drive in the console is faulty or that it only works with 720k disks. See this document here.

Assuming you have HD disks you can try covering up the hole but I'm not sure that should be relevant in the case of formatting within the console. Note that the document was written in 1999 and it will not be so easy to get IDE floppy drives today.

Oddly enough, its the 720 disk that my console doesn't seem to like. Popped a 1.44 in there and boom we're good to go. Formatted, saved, and loaded everything. Thanks for your help, hopefully the next time I'm on here its because my boss is ready to get rid of this prehistoric console.
