update from v5 to v6

i wanted to update my console from v5 to v6 however the update didn't work.

how should i do it so that my v5 show files can be transferred over to be compatible to a v6.

Are the procedures the same as the ones posted on the website.

Hi,

there is a comprehensive upgrade guide here.

You need to backup your existing shows on an external medium, like a USB thumbdrive, before updating the console. Then, you can load the shows back into version 6 - conversion is done automatically.

What about the created personality profiles for the lights. can I backup those as well.

Most of these personality profiles are created by us and we don't want to lose the data and eventually have to recreate for those lights.

You can backup you personalities before updating the console. To do so, copy the folder C:\program files\Avolites\Titan\FixtureLibrary to an external drive, and - after updating the console - restore it into D:\TitanData\FixtureLibrary.

Please not that the mechanism to allow for a separate folder of 'private' personalities (as suggested in the v6 manual) doesn't currently work.
