DMX Send speed....

Postby DeeJay_Bamse » 25 Mar 2013, 06:24

Is it possible to change the speed on the DMXLine? I know Avolites Consoles is a bit fast but still inside the frame of the standards....
Now I have some problems with som lights that blips with aprox 3-5min apart... And they work perfectly with other consoles/pc usb senders.. So I would like to change and test my teory and I think I have read before where I can change the speed but I not sure where..

Go to System->DMX Settings. Then, in the left column, click on the little i button for ExpertDMX. Now, you can change some values (break length, Mark After Break.

Also, you could change those values in USB Expert.

I have my MicroScope connected, which tells me the values really influence the DMX, but not in the very exact way. E.g. the initial values (968/75) really output Bk>999µs, MaB=63µs. When I change the settings to 750/50, Microscope reads 912/34, with occasional glitches in MaB.

I have the same problem. It looks like some cheaper lights have more problems with it. I own a titan mobile, a pearl and some other desks, no desks have the problem except the mobile. So I’m pretty sure it aren’t the lights. I will try to change these settings and see if there is any result. But I think that avolites could better make some default settings which, like all other desks, works for all lights.
