Expert with Laptop

I know that you can connect a Show Safe to the Pearl Expert in case of a System failure, but I was wondering if it might be possible to do the same thing with a laptop. I recently got the blue screen of death on my console and was trying in to find options before the show. Fortunately for me we had a major blizzard and the show was canceled. Is this some thing that is possible? If not, it would be some thing to think about as an option to the show safe.
