Hi, there.

I am trying to make three macros which change fixtures order back, ahead and random.

But I found that while recording order change a macro if I couldn't reset fixtures order, I couldn't get right three macros.

Is there any way to make fixtures order to reset??

or any good idea for this kind of macro??

Unlike the other options in the pattern selection menu (All/Odd/Even) that specify a pattern that works on top of an existing selection, the Random Order option changes the underlying selection. With the others you can remove the pattern and get back to the selection you started with but not with random. You can of course use undo to revert the selection change however you cannot do this if there are any intermediate changes that you wish to keep.

Thank you for the reply.

And I hope there is a selection option that work on DMX's order.

I think I found it.

1) Select odd and clear.
2) Select even and clear.
3) Select all.

It makes default select order to me.

I tried a few variations on what you suggested and I can't make it work for me. It is true that if you deselect everything, pressing All twice will select all the fixtures in the programmer however the order of the fixtures is retained i.e. if it was random before it will still be random after selecting all.

Oh. I am sorry.
"Select all" means "select odd" and "select even".
After thinking twice, 1,2 steps are no need. Just select odd then even.
That makes always fixed order for me.

This doesn't work for me either. Odd and even just select the odd and even numbers of the random order respectively which is correct. If it did not it I think it would be a bug.

Well, my explanation is short.
What I want to do is to change fixture order of a cue or chase.
Cause I like to use overlaping of a cue or chase to give many other looks, I need to change fixture order very quickly.

"Times" -> select a chase -> "Set Step Times" -> "Next" -> "Fixture Order" -> select "Odd" in group window -> select "Even" in group window -> "clear"

This is what I mean.
I think my lack of english caused some misunderstanding.

Did you figure this out? I'm pretty surprised that groups don't save fixture order.

Groups do save fixture order. This thread is about trying to change the fixture order of a cue or chase with a macro.
