“Flash” Playback with Mask FX also stops movement shapes – workaround?

Hello everyone,

I usually manage my light show with two separate cue lists: one for dimmer FX and one for movement FX, both created using the Shape Generator.
I’d like to create a “flash” playback that sets the dimmer to 100% and the color to white for all moving heads in a group, as a temporary punch effect.
My goal is for this playback to only interrupt the dimmer FX, leaving the movement shapes running as they are.
However, even when I apply a Mask FX, triggering the playback still stops the movement shapes, which I don’t want.
Has anyone found a solution or a workaround to make this flash effect work without stopping the movement FX?

Thanks a lot!

How exactly did you program the cue? how do you fire it? Flash, or Swop?

There is a 'Swop Shapes' setting (user settings, Effects section) - maybe this is what you are looking for?

Hi, thanks a lot for your reply!
Maybe I didn’t explain myself clearly. I have two cue lists in Theatre mode, both assigned to virtual faders: one contains movement effects, and the other contains dimmer effects. Both cue lists control the same group of fixtures.
I then created a Flash button, saved in a playback, which turns on the dimmer and sets the color to white for that group of fixtures, using an FX Mask. However, this ends up blocking the movement effects as well, while I would like to block only the dimmer effects.
Is this possible?
