Read Only access to titan possible?

Postby Nexx » 08 Apr 2018, 03:27

Is it possible to lock down the titan software so that a regular user cannot modify settings?
We need to be able to leave the software open so that band members can turn on/off the stage lights for rehearsal without the lighting crew being present.
Can we setup a profile or something that would be very restrictive to allow this? For example On/Off button for stage lights.
TIA

Not really unless you have an original Pearl Expert where you can turn the key to Run mode and then remove it. Later consoles no longer have the key, as it was easy to lose or break, and in new consoles it is no longer possible to enter Run mode at all. On TNPs in Console Mode the playbacks screen on the front is still accessible when the software is locked however there isn’t an equivalent on other consoles. Another option might be to use MIDI or WebAPI to trigger playbacks when the console is locked, the latter could be built into a webpage. As of v10.1, the software will remain locked when it is restarted.

Why don't you use handle world??
I've used a handle world for my part time operator.
It just contains very restricted playback buttons.
You can unassign all your playbacks except a few on/off playback buttons in your console.

another thing you can do is lock startup show, this way if they mess something up, you just restart the console and its fixed
