Chase Tempo Problem

Postby htevents » 07 Aug 2017, 10:35

I have a two step color chase on a playback button.
When firing the playback, even on 30 bpm (wich should be 2 seconds per step), it jumps through the steps like 2 steps per second.

How can I make it work? (I even linked it to a BPM master)

I want the chase change steps at the speed of tapping the tempo (it should work like an automatic go button right?)

Maybe you have set a multiplier? [Edit Times]/<select playback> - check that [Speed Multiplier] is set to 'x1'.

Thank you for your reply, I was still using V10.0, so I am updating now to V10.1. Maybe that will fix my issue.

Well, no succes after the update

Chase: 2 steps (1 is Yellow, 2 is Blue) created as Chase.
After assigning it to a playback button in the playback window I select view and click the handle of the Chase, then I go to Options, Effects and set the Speed Source to BPM Master 1.
The Times of the Chase are: Delay In: 0, Fade In: 0, Fade Out: 0, Speed Multiplier: x1, Spot Overlap: 100%
When the BPM master is set to 0 BPM, the Chase stops, but even on 4 PBM, the Chase is cycling thrue the steps at a very high speed.

Can you tell me step by step how to properly create a BPM sync Chase? The steps should change at the beat of every Tap Tempo tap and continue doing that (like an automatic and timed go button).

This is happening because you have set the step timings to 0. Normally you would not change these in chases. By default they should be 'Global'. To change them back to global select the relevant parameter and press back or backspace.
