Global against tracking

Postby PJ » 05 May 2017, 14:51

Can someone please explain the difference to running a q stack in Global to Tracking. They both do similar things but can appear to act differently.

Setting the Tracking option to Global in a cue means that it will follow the playback option for tracking, which means that if tracking is turned on for the cue list Global is equivalent to Track. However it is possible to turn off tracking for the playback and still track specific cues by setting them to Track or one of the other values.

Thanks for this. So, When we change the tracking option to "on" in the playback options and record q's each q defaults back to global unless we tell each q at the recording stage to track. Is that you would expect. We were thinking that all q's would track unless we said different...

Cues will normally have tracking set to Global unless it is overridden in the record menu, which means that they will follow the playback setting, this should normally be what you want. You can choose to change the tracking for the cues at any point afterwards by selecting the cell in the Playback View window or in the Playback Options menu.
