Hello all

I'm totally new to avolites way of programming. I have moved from freestyler dmx but iv just outgrown the software with what I want to do and need a more powerful lighting control package.

The feature set within Titan is allowing for much quicker build of my shapes and palettes and I absolutely love it. However I have so many questions it's untrue haha.

I'm just wondering how best to setup for a complete busking setup?

The way I was thinking was to build maybe 6 pages with different dimmer and shutter patterns onto the play back faders in position 1-5 and then on 6-9 I have my movement patterns on each page.
Then a couple of pages of playbacks with colour chases from 1-5.

Is this the best way to setup or should I just have intensity on the play back faders and create movement patterns on buttons like I do with palettes?

What setups do you guys use. The environment I usually work is for medium to large dance music events using a lot of moving head fixtures such as sharpys and mac250s. Maybe a few pars and some strobes and a load of crowd blinders.

I'm so new to the avo way any info about the software and how you control your setups would be amazing

Anyone have any tips for me. Iv been messing around and think the best way maybe to have a bank of simple looks that I can trigger for when I leave the desk then for on the fly stuff have a shutter page or 2 which has different intensity ratings for different groups of lights on the faders (this way I can use flash buttons a lot) setup movements to shapes and effects pallete and colpur and gobo ect. This way I have quick control. Does this sound like a reasonable way of setting up?

There are so many options this is probably something only you can really answer as it will largely depend on how you like to operate and what you want to achieve.

I don't have any experience busking using TitanOne but I do have plenty using the consoles.

In that case my setup is always to prioritise intensities on the main playback faders as these are the critical elements IMO. For club type events this would usually be an intensity master for each type or group of fixtures, a small number of dimmer chases and some specials (ie. blinders, strobe flash, strobe blind and momentary white shutter options across one or two fixture groups). I always setup a key profile where the blue key is a tap for chases.

Then (based on consoles with different groups of physical faders) have one or two positional shapes where fader controls size only and a 'I have no idea how to light this song' rainbow shape with size fixed, speed on fader. I will also have a separate rate master assigned to the position shapes.

Beyond that it will all be about palettes. To minimise button presses (for fastest response) I like to use quick palettes as much as possible - ie. no fixture selections. I will try to have sets of colour palettes for each fixture type, along with some that change all fixtures, some gobos (including focus) and maybe a couple of zoom options. I find that gives me enough options without being too complicated which I can access very quickly and easily apply fades to.

Sometimes it's useful to have group scale masters to filter out fixtures from chases or just reduce levels and with v10 I would probably add a size master or two and assign to the shapes. But it's important to avoid over complicating as it's easy to get lost.

Wow thanks this is a great help, I'm looking to get a console once my budget allows but for now unfortunately I'm limited so control will be a little limited.

Iv been playing around and have realised that Titan doesn't have a set way of doing things, it's so versatile that there are so many ways of achieving the same thing which is great.

I'm used to being restricted and having to do things the way the coder intended however Titan doesn't seem to work that way, it's customisable to suit every operators way of controlling.

It's a big change for me but one in the right direction
