future scan control issue

hi i have 3 future scan 3 fixtures that do not reconise dmx from the titan 1 all my other fixtures are working fine
could this be a signal level issue as they work fine with a chamsys dongle

any ideas any one??

Is it that they are not receiving DMX or a personality/patch issue?

Try connecting just one unit directly to the dongle and set the address to 001
In Titan start a new show and patch some dimmers starting at 001.
Adjusting the dimmer levels should get a response from the fixture (for example 1 and 2 should be pan and tilt).

If you get a response then the problem is personality/address related.

If not then it is signal. Assuming you've proved the cable is ok then try a phase reverse (swapping pins 2 and 3 at one end of the cable). If it still doesn't work then perhaps there is a setting on the unit?

Yes I have tried all of those ideas
They act as tho there is no dmx line connected
I have unplugged the Titan and pluged in a chamsys dongle and the
React as they should do

i am still having this issue any one else got any ideas i thought it may be the fixture so i rented a pair and had exactly the same problem

Sorry, forgot about this. Overlooked the most important point there about it working with Chamsys. I'm not sure why this is but will see if I can get someone else to help.

Hi, I've spoken to one of the people involved in the design of these fixtures.

Apparently there are two versions, one with 6 dip switches and one with 10. The former was in the early days of DMX and was not compatible with all controllers. In this case you could try increasing the break and mark after break values in ExpertDmx module properties in DMX Settings. He has never heard of problems with the later type but there is no harm in trying different timing values here too.

Both types are definitely wired pin 2+. Avolites is pin 3+ so you would certainly need a phase reverse somewhere.
