Titan One has stopped working

We are trying to load the PC Suite on a fairly new Dell laptop that is easily within the recommended specs. All seems to go well with the installation but after the reboot, the Titan One and Titan Simulator won't work . The Titan One app fails within a few seconds of clicking with a message 'TitanOne has stopped working'. The simulator loads the splash screen where you click on your console but then it fails with a similar message. We are using Windows 8.1
