Patching a device I can't find?

Postby UBMSTech » 16 Mar 2014, 22:58

So I've just acquired some abstract pro futurescan 2ce fixtures, I've tried patching them through but can only find abstract futurescan 1ce on the fixtures list, I tried patching this through and playing with the settings but got nothing so was wondering if either a) there is a way to get a suitable setup for patching my 2ces through or if I'm just having a funny 5 minutes and not doing something right... Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks!

There is no 2ce personality currently available for Titan. Please use the Request Form to request missing fixtures. Alternatively you can use the Personality Builder software to make your own.

Thanks for the advice! Have submitted a request, but given the 2CEs have been discontinued for a small age would it be easier to use the personality builder? If so, any pointers? I'm fairly literate with the Titan one software but haven't tried out the builder to date!

I don't see the request in the queue.

Best thing with Personality Builder is suck it and see.

When creating factory personalities I use the following as a general guide:

- Set manufacturer, fixture and display name
- Set physical type
- Add attributes
- Add functions to attributes
- Set dmx ranges, wheel display type and associated ranges for each function
- Add macros
- Add preset palettes
- Add modes
- Add created attributes to modes
- Set channel offsets for attributes in each mode
- Set locate/power on values
- Set wheel mapping

There are various things that can speed this process up, including use of the template attributes & functions, automatic dmx ranges, automatic macros and palettes etc. but it takes time to learn and understand it all.

You can import r20's which may help but personally I find it's often quicker to start from scratch.

Have successfully submitted the request now (sorry about that) but will also try the builder, thanks for the pointers!
