The mode used for the cells needs to have gaps in the channel offsets. So Red = 1, Green = 4, Blue = 7, White = 10.

In more detail:

- Create dimmer, red, green, blue, white, special effect and speed effect attributes
- Add a hidden mode for the cells containing red, green, blue and white with channel offsets 1, 4, 7 and 10 respectively
- Add the main mode, add dimmer to the master section by holding Alt
- Select the mode.
- Select cells
- Set quantity to 3, select the cell mode and add (it will automatically set the start addresses to 2, 3 and 4 and interleave the controls as necessary)
- Select the master section and add the remaining effect controls

True.

It is not important. It just stops it from appearing as option when chosing modes during patch.
