Problem Opening R20 files

Postby Alloydog452 » 15 Feb 2018, 00:48

I am totally new to PB and finding it a bit difficult to get started. So I thought I would download some R20 files of fixture (Chauvet Par CORE 80 USB) and load it. Then I could try to unravel what was happening. But every file I try to upload I get an error message; "Object reference set to an instance of an object". This is making a hard job (there is scant material on the program) even harder. Ideas welcome.

This is a problem specific to the Personality Builder 3.0 (bundled with Titan PC suite 10). Try to get hold of an older version (e.g. by downloading the PC Suite 9). You may also write me an email at s.beutel@trendco.de, and I'll make the old version available to you.

Out of interest: what exactly are you going to do?

You can download earlier versions directly from the Downloads/Personality Builder section of the website. You don't need to get the whole PC suite.

Usually it's easier to view and edit R20's in a text editor.

OK guys, thanks for the 3.0 heads up and I found that bit about the text file stuff particularly interesting. What am I doing? Cheating! Due to low budget we bought a Kingkong 1024 console (which is an amazing bang for the buck) and it uses .R20 profiles. Anything we'd use is probably available for download but I just want to be able to hack my own fixture 'personality" (Profile) files. Born hacker I'm afraid.
