preventing a dmx range from being controled ?

Postby themastermix » 19 Feb 2012, 03:10

hi
i have this moving head with reset function on the same channel offset of shutter functions including stobe , pulse , shutter open and close ...to be specific shutter functions use from 0 up to 230 dmx channel and from 231 to 255 it's a reset function ...is there a way for a newbie like to me to edit my R20 file to prevent my tiger from jumping beyond 230 just to make it see it as the end of dmx range at 230 not reaching the reset function as i always reach it accidentally ??

The Classic software doesn't really have any way of dealing with this.

It might be possible to define a user curve that only runs up to 230 and assign that to the shutter attribute in the personality although I've never tried it and can't say if it will work or not. If it does then this probably means you won't be able to access reset.

My solution would more likely be to carefully program some palettes for open/closed & various strobe speeds and from then on use these rather than the wheel. Also remember you can select different wheel sensitivities do help wheel attribute control.
