DMX End Funcion Porpeties

Postby Ferran » 18 Feb 2011, 11:59

Hello.
I can not enter into any DMX End in Function Properties of Gobo2 in a library for Mac2000.
When you enter a value and press enter this gets to 0, for example I can not set Raw DMX.

Gracias.

Normally not being able to enter values is because the attribute is set to be type 'none' instead of '8-bit' or '16-bit'. Normally it is only the Func attributes that are type 'none' but perhaps this has been changed accidentally?

Are you using the latest library? Mac2000 was updated recently.

Thanks for responding. The attribute is set to 16 bit. The library update it when I upgrade version 4 Pearl Expert.
Thanks

Gobo 2 on a Mac 2000 should be 8-bit, no?

The library is updated daily. Please check you are using latest version of personality first.

If you still have a problem then can you explain in more detail what you are trying to do?

Hi Niclights, I can not explain it, sorry.
What happens is that I can not enter values in End DMX in any function of the attributes Gobo1 Rot and Gobo2 Rot.
When I try to set to 0 and get a * in the window title.
Gobo1 Rot and Gobo2 Rot are set to 16bit.
At first the library worked ok, I solved a problem and gobos.
Wanting to change the direction of the gobos rotate i ran into this problem.
I can redo library again, but has given me work.
Do not paste a picture so you see the example.
Thanks for your help.[/img]

The * just means the file has been edited.

The Gobo Rotate channels are 16-bit. Before you mentioned Gobo2 which is 8-bit. Sorry for the confusion.

If I try to change the DMX values it works fine. I don't understand why you are having problems. Unfortunately I'm not sure how to help further unless you can think of any other details that might be important?

Note that latest version is currently 26/01/2011. You can check this in the History section of the personality file.

Thanks again.
The library is the latest version. I have test with other fixture and is the same. Dont know what else to do.
See if someone reads this post and I can help.
I built some libraries for my fixtures, I set the colors and attributes for families all went well until I've had with this problem.
Thanks ...

If you can explain what you want to change then maybe I could do it for you instead?

Is it just that you want to swap the DMX ranges for CW and CCW spin? Having looked at the manual I can see that these are indeed the wrong way around. This is something I have missed when I last updated them.

I can do this quickly and mail to you to check if this is useful?

It works fine for me. I have already made the edit. For you it is probably going wrong for a simple reason but is impossible to know without seeing.

If you would like me to mail it to you then please pm me your email address and I will send.

Are there other things that you think are wrong with the personality? If you have time please let me know so I can make sure they are correct in the library.

The problem setting the DMX End value in Personality Builder may be due to the Tools > DMX Values option in the menu. If you encounter problems try setting this to "Decimal" which is the default.

Glad that Nic has sorted you out; the changes should available to download from the website tomorrow.

Suddenly all is clear! Actually Ferran figured that out himself, not me. I just provided some clues. He mentioned he solved it with decimal but I put that down to mis-translation.
