More than 16 Universes on Editor Key

Is it possible to use more then 16 DMX universes using the Editor Key. I am currently preparing a show with more then 16 DMX universes. On site I will have TNPs to open up more lines, however am hitting the 16 Universe limit on the Key.

Is there a way to emulate the TNPs as well?

In Titan the fixed limits apply to the overall system whether that be 2 universes for a T2 or 64 universes for most consoles. Titan Simulator shares the system limit of consoles of 64 universes albeit with the random DMX spoiler. There are recommended limits per device or console which are often 16 universes however these are not currently rigidly enforced. This means that both on consoles and Titan Simulator you can assign and use 20 universes for example (or even more) however how well this will perform depends on various factors including how powerful the machine is, what type of fixtures you are using and how you have programmed your show.

It is not possible to emulate TNPs but you should be able to assign more than the 16 recommended universes and then reassign them to TNPs once you have them.

Hi Gregory,

I am unable to assign any DMX line above 16, using Editor key on v17.1.

If I have a showfile saved on a desk with more then 16 universes, then Editor Key will "see" all the universes, but starting a show from scratch on the editor its, not allowing me to patch more then 16 universes.

In the DMX Settings window if you go to the DMX Overview does it show the 64 lines on the left (you will probably need to scroll)? You can select lines (both assigned or unassigned) on the left and then select the lines section (where is says Lines: 16/16) of any of the devices (e.g. your computer, the console or a connected TNP) to assign them to that device. Once the line is assigned you can return to the device tab to assign Streaming ACN or similar.

Thank you very much... managed to get more then 16 universes patched, even though it meant starting the show from scratch.
