I have a mixed rig of Generic, Chauvet 915FC's, Chauvet Colordash Par quad 18's


anything over a 15sec fade time up or down causes the Par Quads to step through the fades everything else in the rig dims smoothly,

Par Quads in 10 Chan Mode
Dim Mode Off
TT2 V11 Dimmer Curve set to Linear.

Any help much Appreciated.

Unfortunately this sounds like a fixture limitation. The Chauvet COLORdash Par-Quad 18's have an 8-bit dimmer (ie. 256 levels including off). The Chauvet Ovation F-915FC has 16-bit dimmer controls in the 17 DMX, 13 DMX and 11 DMX modes (ie. 65536 levels including off). And, while conventional dimmers are set to 8-bit, the tungsten filaments naturally smooth out any steps.

Will have to Plot clever. ( you get what you pay for )

Regards Par Quads 18's. checking the manual they are 16bit. I have changed the desk for an ETC Ion XE and loaded the same personalities and they dim smoothly. Could this be an Avo personality error or have I got something set wrong on desk?

I have checked but I cannot find any information about 16bit controls. According to the information in the manual, quick reference guide and dmx chart documents linked from the product page there are three modes with total channel counts of 10, 6 and 4 where all of the controls are 8bit and match the existing personality.

If you are certain you are using the same fixture do you have other information?

No Worries. I got the info they were 16Bit from the user Manual, Pge 3 Section 2 Introduction. But yes no other reference to 16bit in any of the three modes.
