Repatching fixtures in Pearl

Postby amsung2 » 08 Aug 2016, 10:52

hi folks,
I have been trying this feature in the Pearl for quite a while without any success,

2.2.2 Moving a fixture to a different handle
You can move a dimmer or fixture from one handle to another simply by entering the DMX channel to match the address of the fixture, then patching it again onto another handle. However, all programming is lost for that dimmer channel or fixture.

can somone shed some light on this?

for eg. i wanna shift a sharpy at address 31 and on handle no 31 to handle 41 keeping the same address

What it is saying is that if you patch a new Sharpy fixture at the same address as an existing one it will automatically remove the old one for you. This effectively means that the fixture that was on one handle is moved to a new handle however none of the playbacks, groups or palettes (except shared palettes) will work for the fixture on the new handle.

If you need to retain all the programming for the fixture then it is not possible to move the fixture to a new handle in the classic Pearl software.
