Poor quality manuals and video tutorials

Postby Randy Storms » 10 Jul 2016, 18:48

I've been an Avo user for two years now, and I'm frequently surprised at the poor quality of documentation in the product manuals. They are barely indexed and badly organized. The tutorial videos include some helpful information, but the production values are so awful they are almost unwatchable. (I know, let's do a console demonstration in a dark, noisy dimmer room (?) and shoot it with a handheld cell phone - oh, and at frequent intervals could somebody stomp through the room wearing heavy work boots? Perfect...) I feel like a major international lighting company should be able to do better. I suggest doing a focus group in which people completely unfamiliar with the product are asked to accomplish basic tasks using only the manual - this would quickly tell you where the holes in your documentation are. More opportunities for local training in the US would be welcome, too - not all of us live in New York! :?
