Showtec Sunstrip

Postby ozze_b » 27 Jun 2013, 23:33

Hello,

I got a huge problem. I want to runt the Showtec Sunstrip Active DMX in 10 channel mode to control each lamp by there own. But when I do that nothing in the shape generator works to do dimmer effects. How do I do to simply use dimmereffects in the shape generator with the Showtec Sunstrip in 10 ch mode?

You don't say which console.

If it is a Titan console then you should get an option to run on super or subfixtures, in which case select subfixtures.

If it is a Classic console the only way you can do it is to patch as separate dimmers.

These are Classic consoles. Patch as separate dimmers.

The only alternative is to write a custom personality and a custom shapefile where you would have to create a shape for each spread you require. It's almost certainly not worth the trouble unless you don't have enough handles. Remember that you can patch (and select) the top row of handles by holding shift (Avo). This is true even for the Tiger.

hi niclights,

I the past i used the console (Pearl 2010) and the sunstrips as seperate dimmers and it worked. But..
I do not seem to find the way to dim the dimmer shape i generated. isnt this possible? just to change the overall dimmer intensity of the shap i am playing back.

Intensity is a size parameter. If you want to control shape intensity by fader set the fader to mode 2 in Classic or toggle size on fader in playback options in Titan.
