Hi, Firstly, I have to say I am no expert in personality files, so some (or quite passably all !) of the below, may not be correct. Secondly, the change I made, now makes the vis file work. In the .R20 personalty file, there is a numeric that describes the mirror type (moving head or moving mirror)....

The above problem turned out to be the desk just not keeping up. It slowed so much because of the Vis connection, that some fader levels were not being recorded into the step by the time I pressed the playback swap to advance the step. So it was being recorded as an empty step. Just slowing the butt...

ACDI is an Avo driver for third party visualiser software (MSD, Capture etc). http://www.avolitesdownload.com/Downloads/ACDI.stm When I couldn't get Vis to work with my PC via the dongle (this was before Vis was free), Avo suggested I try ACDI. I did and it worked. It's free to use with Visualiser, ...

Mark,

Did you have Visualiser enabled on the desk ?

Are you running ACDI ?

Just a thought....

Hi, Firstly, don't expect to be able to create fancy looking stages as found in Capture, MSD and WYSIWYG - you wont! You set your default units by loading the appropriate theatre. If you want to work in meters and millimetres then load the "blankmm.ttr" file, for feet and inches load "...

Nasty strangeness

This drove me nuts for a while - not to mention being a little scary... Whilst recoding chases ( on a Pearl) and being connected to Vis (ie Visualiser enabled), data in some steps was being 'lost'; it appeared to be random - if I re-recorded the chase, a different step would loose its data. The step...

Random Characters in STAGE VIEW

(Pearl2004 V1.2) I noticed this the other day and wondered if it was known .... In STAGE VIEW, I occasionally see random characters flash over the regular data - it's not just limited to alphanumerics - even get the playing card symbols and all kinds of other stuff!. At first I thought it was amusin...

To Avo Software....

What is this <CLEAR>+<EXIT> ? Is it a genuine 'hard' reset or the same as <VIEW+VIEW> soft reset?

Cheers,

Andy

FYI - Comma Separated Value

If you have any interesting or unusual truss / set elements, that you don't mind sharing, email the .csv file (but ONLY the set element and not your whole theatre and patch) to Olie or Ed, for inclusion in the new 'objects' folder that is now part of Vis 7.10 . There is a "How To ...." gui...
