I can't say I've experienced this but I have noticed that if you load a new shape file the palettes don't work until you reset the board.

Perhaps there is a link here?

Anyway I would suggest loading a new SG.DAT from System menu and then resetting to see if that brings them back.

Shocking question Dave! I will post instructions but you really should read the manual... -Program mode. -Start creating chase. -Select fixtures. -Select [Colour] Attribute. -Set colour value with the wheel (or keypad or by recalling a palette) -Store as step -Set next value etc. -Press [Chase] to f...

Hi Hans, Yes it is (roughly!) detailed in the manual - Page 210 Sect 14.2.10 With this and using an example file such as the Mac600 you should be able to figure it out. The -1 means the palette is not assigned to a button (for the 'automatically create Preset Focuses?' option when patching) Hope tha...

Yes, forgot about that!

Calculator is on ML Menu 2 though you need VDU to use.

I should also point out that LCD Page 2 is no longer DMX values in 2004 software. I don't think you can view this anymore but values being input are show in both percentage and (raw) above the wheel.

That's an easy one! Values are in Hex not Decimal ie 0-FF Hex = 0-255 Decimal. You need to convert the actual DMX values (not percentages) to Hex. First make sure the desk is displaying DMX values (LCD Page 2), then convert to Hex. If you are using Windows you can use calculator - switch to scientif...

Hi Pete, I have had the 2004 software installed on two 2000's for some time now, during which I have used it on all sorts of shows. I have never encountered any of the problems reported. The wheels now have different response options. Shift+2 cycles through the various settings. Linear Fast is prett...

You may be in 'Record by Fixture'. You need 'Record by Channel'. This is selectable from user settings in System mode and possibly from Shift menu depending on software version. You can also achieve this in 'Record by Fixture' by use of the OFF function to turn off any attributes you do not want sto...

Good choice! Be aware that you need to buy the dongle to allow the simulator to communicate with the visualiser. It can be a little fiddly to use, simply because you are using the mouse to move around the console, but certainly will help with understanding the desk. It is also worth noting that the ...

Hi Ben, The 'E' in the display is a Bus Error. Switch key to System, press Softkey A (Service) followed by Softkey C (Display Bus Errors) and see what's listed. Clear the errors on exiting. The 'Attributes and Tables' screen is automatically displayed whenever an attribute is selected which has a 'P...

If you need flexibility, then the best way is to use 2 playbacks - one for the movement and one for the shutter chase. You would almost certainly want another as a dimmer for that particular fixture. You can combine the two with the latest software, but this doesn't give you the option of having no ...

It is not possible to mix chases unfortunately. The only solution is to create a new chase with both the pan/tilt and colours. The shape generator is available in later software. You need to email avo regarding software compatibility with your board as it is quite old. The very latest (2004) softwar...

When turned on you can apply palettes without selecting any fixtures.

If no fixtures are selected, all fixtures contained in the palette will be applied. You can still select fixtures in the normal way.

Hope that makes sense,

Nic.

Yes, unfortunately this is a bug in the new software. Palettes stored in PB's are not included correctly.

Workaround is to use Blind mode.
