all make sense now....

Ok - after some head scratching....and talking to those that know more than me! The <repatch> function does not work for dimmers, only fixtures. (that'll be why the desk says "fixture not found") The manual only mentions 'fixtures' in the repatch description, didn't really take that on boa...

Ok - I thought the two were linked a little more intimately....

Oops - I meant the software and <import chase> NOT Gibbo and Darren.

another patching problem Pearl2004 V1.2

Hi, Either I am being very silly or there is some weirdness going on.... A simple re-patching of one dimmer on address A400, to be moved to B001 I know the dimmer is patched correctly (to A 400) and working, it appears in the fixture patch and DMX patch list. I select <patch>, <repatch> , select the...

Yes, there are all kinds of dinky devices, NONE of which we can use with our Pearls!

Unless, I got a powered hub - then I could cover my B faders with all sorts of crap....lights, fan, keyboard vacuum cleaner....cup warmer...

Thanks Ollie, helpful as always....

So I will need to cut of the usb plug and put on a 13A plug?
(at least it will be fused  )

(for those completely lacking in common sense, this is a joke and not to be taken seriously)

USB power?

We all know the USB (Pearl2004) socket isn't implemented from a software point of view, but is it powered? Is power even supplied on a device port? I don't want to order my USB lava lamp if it isn't.

Cheers,

Andy

I'll re phrase my question...

Is it ok to leave a disk in the drive, while the desk is in transit?

leaving disks in drives during transit...

I seem to remember that on some older disk drives that don't park, it's advisable not to leave disks in....

Sometimes, ok most times, I forget to take my show backup out. Do Avo use drives that park?

Am I risking damaging the heads?

Cheers,

Andy

VisWiz not opening

I've just updated to Viz Ver7 and I now can't get VisWiz to run (the version that's bundled with Viz). Keep getting a "EAccessViolation". Have I done / not done something ? Or is there a program problem.

All worked fine with the old Viz.

(WindozeXP+SP2)

Cheers,

Andy

Thanks for the thought CoenCo, but I had the channels set to fading. I think Niclights is on the right track with key reading idea, because I noticed that the 'stuck' value was increasing by one, for every press of the <swap>, this was happening on both rate and duration for two fixtures. Once the v...

Ah well done mate! Yeah, that was it..... "..tell the strobe to come on randomly but to ramp up with full intensity, and then I tell the fader to be at zero intensity...." Hmmm...ok.... Final comment on my Atomic problem. I have only ever noticed this happen with Atomics. Which points to a personali...

Cheers Nic, I've got the show up on the desk at the moment - will it do it ? Like hell it will ! I've never been able to clear it with <clear> , even lowering and raising the playback that stuck, only raises to 100% and lowers to the value it's decided to stick at. So, wheeling it to zero and then <...
