You do indeed loose the cache as it was in earlier versions when upgrading to 2008. However as Ollie says to be able to upgrade to 2008 you need to have USB hardware installed and this has an internal USB stick which contains the entire fixture library on it so you haven't lost out!

The only difference between the two is the USB ports, the software is unchanged bar that and I would guess a few bug fixes.

Ah, I should of probably added that on most occasions it does remove the shape even though I've included. This happens on all of our Pearls not just one, is it just me?

Simple, you patch the scroller first to a handle using the Scroller_D personality, and then patch the dimmer channel for the fixture on the same handle.
