Pearl Simulator Crashes
I have the same problem -- and the same graphics card. Do you have a Toshiba Satellite running windows XP? I was able to fix it by right clicking on the program icon and selecting Properties, then the Compatibility tab, and then checking the box for 680 x 480 resolution. everything worked smoothly, ...

Parking Fixtures or DMX channels
Is there a non-programmer way to "park" a fixture in a certain location? I asked about this before and recieved some very good ideas about sneaking palettes into the programmer in Run Mode Normal, but i have another situation where placing the stuff into the programmer won't work. I sometimes work f...

Accidentally hitting the dimmer encoder
Hmm... my comany just traded up to the 2004 consoles so i haven't really had a chance tp play with the new Quick Palette features. Sounds good though, I'll try that -- editing the focus mask also sounds like a bright idea. Thanks!

Run mode normal cheat
Cool -- I'll try that! Sounds like a bug, though (or at least an oversight), so i wonder if they'll have fixed it in version 1.1 -- i'm sure not everyone wants their palette selections entering the programmer when they think they're safe in Run Mode Normal. Thanks for the suggestion!

Changing the dimmer wheel side in Personality editor
I've been trying to create a personality file for a technobeam that puts the dimmer channel on the right encoder wheel instead of the left. The reason for this is that when running in takeover mode to enable all attribute banks one must be in dimmer mode, however, the encoder wheel is so close to th...

I agree -- what is the deal?
I can't imagine why anybody would want that either. It is very problematic in spaces where we are controlling all of the ambient lighting as well as creating looks for the stage -- often people are focusing at the same time as the programmer is working, necessitating constant movement of the preset ...

Is there a way to park values for attributes or DMX channels
Here's the scenario: After programming for several hours for rock and roll stage looks, the IMAG folks complain about the stage being too dark right at the beginning of the show. We change the color of the downstage fixtures to open white in takeover mode, so that the cues and chases will run as pla...

Pearl 2004 Dumps Preset Fader values while Clearing other Pa
So if i have conventional channels up on the preset faders on page 0 (not in the programmer, just up), and am programming movers on page 1, all the conventional channels are dumped when i press clear on page 1 and the room goes dark. Anyone else have this problem?
