Thanks for your input - it was appreciated! Not too sure what was going wrong, hopefully it was a quirk of the Sim rather than something I'm likley to encounter with the actual board.

I believe it was to do with the fact I was using the Personality files from Visualiser. If you download the Martin MAC 500 Personalities from the Avolites site, you get a disk full personality files, along with an SG.dat file and a few other files that don't look like personalities. I solved this problem by downloading a fresh copy of the personality.

Seems the personalities with the Visualiser do not come with shape definitions.
