Re: USB port voltage

Hi,
You shouldn't have a problem.
It's got a low dropout 3V30 regulator inside which only needs 3V55 in order to run the micro-controller , so plenty of overhead with 5V USB supply.

Re: chip configuration checksum error

Hi,
I think this is an 'error' that everyone will see.
Nothing to worry about, it's just a software error reporting error.

Re: Sapphire Touch bad DMX timing

Hi, A DMX compliant receiver should be able to accept the timings from the Sapphire Touch. In fact it should be able to cope with a break length of up to approx 1000x as long as that sent from the Sapphire Touch. Avolites found that some fixtures didn't like a short break length, or DMX sent at maxi...

Re: Need help urgently Sapphire touch freeze up

Dear Brian, This sounds as though this could be a hardware issue, but it would be best to determine exactly where the problem is before we decide on a solution. Normally this message only appears while you are holding down one of the Executer buttons where a pallete is stored. As soon as the button ...

Hi, Is the green led on the Titan One flashing? This would show that the driver is set to output mode, whereas a yellow led flashing would indicate that the Titan One is in receive mode. There is a useful dmx test facility in the UsbExpert console. First select the Titan One DMX panel in the connect...

Hi, If you run the Avolites USB Expert Console (under All Programs - Avolites) can you see "Titan One DMX Panel 1" in the connected panels pane? If not, then I would suggest that this could be a problem with the Jungo Windriver installation which is part of the Titan One installation. In W...

Hi, It sounds as though your USB ports could be entering Sleep mode. Under PC Device Manager,USB controllers you will see a number of USB Root Hubs. For each one, right click, select properties then the Power Management tab. De-select the box that allows the power saving. This is for XP but you shou...

Have you checked the (non rechargeable) Lithium battery on the motherboard? It should measure 3V6.

Hi, Using Titan V5 on an Expert (testing with Lil Dmxter) I have found the following. There does seem to be conflict between the 2 places where you can change the settings, one or the other not showing correctly, and sometimes boxes refusing to accept input. I recommend that you forget about UsbExpe...

Hi, Yes, could be a bad hub, especially if you see all panels connected to it do a 'random reset' at the same time. I would double check the usb connections to this hub. ie try wiggling both the cable connection from the motherboard and the short usb cable to the hub. Also check the disk drive type ...

Hi, You should be ok with this. (is chip revision 2 on all boards?). When Microchip released later chip revisions ie 4 upwards, they introduced a problem where the brownout voltage was lowered. Avolites had to change the boot program to counter this. Otherwise a slight lowering of voltage supply to ...

Hi,

Could you supply the serial number of the desk?
In USB Expert console, you can display information about each of the panels.
Please note down the Boot Version and Chip Revision for each.
(Boot Version is probably the same for all).

Thanks

I would try replacing the opto isolator ic's on the dmx input circuitry.
Believe it or not, they can get old and not work as well as when they were young. Alternatively, you can increase the input drive current by changing the 4K7 resisor to say 1K.

I should add that the software I'm talking about is the desk version.
I don't know of any other software that can be used with the desk.
